Lent Project

Care for Creation

During this season of Lent, we strive to reconnect with the beautiful Earth that God gave us. We seek to make our world a better place, to foster a healthier environment, and give thanks to God for the amazing place we were given to dwell in.

Join us by taking this small, important actions as Care for Creation during our journey to Easter.

Week One: Reduce & Reuse

Bring in used crayons and mascara brushes

Bring in used crayons to be melted down, remanufactured and delivered to children’s hospitals across the country by The Crayon Initiative.

Bring in used mascara brushes to be cleaned and sent to the Appalachian Wildlife Refuge to clean the fur and features of small animals.

All items can be delivered to the Inner Court.

Week Two: Recycle & Compost

Bring in hard to recycle items and learn something about recycling and composting

Recycling Collection: Bring in used batteries and e-waste to 5th Period classes to be recycled

Composting & Recycling Survey: The Green Team is reaching out to encourage proper recycling and composting practices at home, as we have a new composting program at school. We have created a brief survey to understand the different practices at our households. Green Team is here to assist every person in our community to make strides towards sustainability.
