Cannon Wellness Center

The Cannon Wellness Center provides a safe and supportive space for students to prioritize their social emotional health and wellbeing.

Our wellness counseling team offers individual (short-term) and group counseling support, community support referrals, wellness education & programming, art therapy activities, and space for telehealth appointments. The vision for these various offerings supports our fundamental belief in the importance of encouraging students to prioritize their own mental health while providing the opportunity for students to support one another through peer collaboration.

Parents and students are encouraged to contact a wellness counselor if they have any questions or concerns regarding emotional health and well-being.

Peer Group Support

Peer group support has been offered for these areas:

  • Chronic illness
  • Divorce
  • Grief
  • Stress management
  • LGBTQ+

In addition to rotating peer-to-peer support groups, the wellness team provides unique transition support services for freshman and transfer students.

  • “Cougar Pack” - Is another opportunity for students who arrive on our campus without a strong network to build one! Students who arrive without any or very few peers from their middle school are encouraged to join a 4-week group meeting weekly that strives to have fun, make connections, and help students get to know us, their campus and one another.
  • Students transferring to Carondelet from other high schools are grouped together with one another to connect and facilitate their successful transition into the Cougar Community.

Peer Counseling

Trained senior peer counselors work with small groups of freshmen throughout the school year to help them in their adjustment to high school.
