Café Carondelet
At Café Carondelet, we only have one rule: You make it, you bake it, and you eat it. Campers will have the chance to whip up tasty (individualized) treats & quick bites that they can pose for a selfie with and then enjoy! In previous summers, popular dishes have included Pasta Primavera, Brownies-To-Go, Shake & Eat Ice Cream, and Lumpia. We are excited to see what our specialty chefs whip up in 2023.
Note: Camp Carondelet is a nut-free & allergy-conscious environment and all basic recipes will be planned accordingly. If your son/daughter has an allergy concern, please plan to note this on our medical form which will be available in the Spring.
Camp Carondelet Ventures
Inspired by our school’s own entrepreneurial club ‘Carondelet Ventures’, this activity will focus on helping campers learn the basics of building a functional mini product or service using everyday items. In addition to a focus on sustainability, campers will be working in groups of 2-3 (or solo if they feel confident) and will need to produce a mock marketing plan, work from a summer project budget and be ready to invite other campers and counselors to test their products or services. Small prizes and treats will be available at the end of the week for all groups!Escape Room Adventures
Enter at your own risk and be granted access to exit only when the combination is right! Escape Room Adventures provides campers the chance to work in small groups or solo to search for hidden clues, puzzles, and other secretive gems that can be used to set them free from different spaces throughout our Concord campus each day before the clock runs out.EPIC Digital Design Digital Design: Think, Make, Create
Do you want to become a creative whiz and learn how to meme, gif, and mini animate with the greats? EPIC Digital Design is focused on helping campers think and see on and off-screen in new ways including how to remix their favorite images into new creative pieces. Campers will also have the chance to explore the basics of photo, image, and video editing with a variety of software. Some elements of this activity may include storytelling through imagery and creative thinking for inspiration.Improv, comedy, and More!
Throw all traditional classroom rules out of the window and prepare for non-stop fun & laughs while you learn. Improv, Theatre, & More! (as in more laughs, more fun, more summer!) has been designed to help campers build communication and critical thinking skills with a fun dose of humor and imagination. Activities may include solo and group skits, character creation for stories, musical sing-alongs, and understanding what makes a good story or show including on-stage/off-stage movement, cadence, and how to build a story arch.
Interactive Games Galore
Calling one and all summer games lovers! Interactive Games Galore allows campers to use summer screen time for fun and enrichment while working in a friend pod or completing a gaming “level” individually. Popular games offered in the past have included Minecraft, Trivia, and Interactive Monopoly. Specialty teachers for this activity also create outdoor interactive games to balance screen time and create space for bonding and fun among cohort peers.
Podcasting
Want to learn how to tell stories like the pros? Explore the steps to building a podcast that hooks your audience and leaves them waiting for the next episode. Campers will have the opportunity to script, record, and present on topics that are most interesting to their group. In the past, some campers have also created podcasts solo. All topics must be age-appropriate and aligned with Carondelet’s overall mission.
Silly Summer Storytellers
Get back to the basics of writing for fun & creating ideas for goofy giggles and glee as a Silly Summer Storyteller. Activities may include campers creating their own poems, re-writing lyrics to their favorite songs, Team Building MadLibs (Camp Carondelet Style!), and telling stories through creativity. Activities can be completed solo, but are much more fun and memorable when you work in groups!
The Great World of Science
Do you love all things science and technology with an occasional side of fun formulas to keep you on your toes? The Great World of Science Creations is the perfect summer camp activity for children of all ages to build their creative pathways through experiments and innovative projects that can be recreated for years to come.
