She Learns Science Hands-on Learning January 2026 Workshop
Discover, create, and experiment like a real scientist at our upcoming She Learns Science workshop for current 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade girls. This unique opportunity, led by Dr. Katherine Hutches, will take your daughter on an exciting journey through the world of science, inspired by the discovery of reactive factors, formulas, and understanding science in everyday nature.
Designed for middle school girls to further their curiosity about science, this will be a fantastic afternoon of exploring chemistry, engineering, and the creative mindset. Spaces are limited!
Note: This event is open to local 6th-8th-grade girls from all schools, including Catholic-root, private, and public schools. This programming has no dedicated faith-based components but is closely aligned with our school mission.

Location: Carondelet High School Main Campus, 1133 Winton Drive, Concord, CA 94518
Fee: $20 - includes light refreshments/snacks for all participants. All supplies and materials will be provided.
Details on arrivals and what to bring will be sent to all registered families on Wednesday, January 7, at 3:00 PM.
About Dr. Katherine Hutches
Dr. Hutches is a former forensic scientist who teaches several courses at Carondelet, including Chemistry Honors and Scientific Research Honors. Passionate about all things science since her high school days, she has had an esteemed career focused on science communication, research, and making science accessible to all students. Known as “Dr. H” here on campus, she inspires our young women not to see the field of science as only for ‘smart kids,’ but for anyone curious about how and why things work. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from UC Berkeley, a Master’s Degree in Forensic Science, and a PhD in Chemistry, both earned at UC Davis.
