Youth Tutoring

Carondelet High School is thrilled to announce the return of our popular Community Youth Tutoring Program!  This free service offers local elementary and early middle schoolers in 3rd-6th grades the opportunity to receive personalized online tutoring in multiple subject areas.

All tutoring will take place on select Wednesday & Thursday afternoons throughout the 22-23 school year via zoom. Carondelet’s Community Youth Tutoring Program is open to girls and boys throughout the Bay Area and will be offered virtually until further notice.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

How It Works

Parents can register their child in 3rd-6th grades for virtual tutoring sessions on Wednesdays or Thursdays on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, free of charge. Students will be matched with Carondelet Youth Tutors who will help assist them in guidance on homework assignments or subject areas where they need the most help. Each weekly session is 60 minutes and will take place virtually in an encrypted secure room.

Tutoring Subject Areas

Carondelet Youth Tutoring will be offered virtually in four different subject areas:

  • Math
  • Science
  • English/Social Studies
  • Essay/Written Assignments

You will have the ability to indicate the areas where your child needs the most focus during their sessions on the registration form.

Learn more about the Carondelet Youth Tutors

Each Carondelet Youth Tutor is a current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior that has excelled academically since enrolling in Carondelet. The majority of our tutors are also current members of the California Scholarship Federation or National Honor Society. More than half of the students participating in this program have previous tutoring experience and represent a variety of backgrounds from several cities across the Bay Area.

Is this really a free service? What’s the catch?

As with all initiatives launched by Carondelet, we strive to demonstrate the ideals of the Sisters of St. Joseph who have always focused on ‘service to thy dear neighbor’. In these unconventional times, we know there is a need for additional support for students who are learning in a virtual or hybrid model but may feel disconnected from their traditional educational environment. Our goal is to offer a top-notch service that gives back to our community through enrichment, encouragement, and equity in this year of constant change for families without the need for added fees.

Are there plans to offer in-person tutoring?

We would love the chance to connect with your child in person. At this time, county guidelines do not permit in-person meetings on campus for non-Carondelet students. We will continue to explore this option and will revisit the idea of in-person tutoring at our Winton Drive Campus for the 2023-2024 school year.

How do I register?

Please complete this short Interest Form. This allows us to learn more about your child’s needs and schedule. Once this form is complete, you will receive more information on scheduling sessions.
