I’m Nichole Pera and am thrilled to be rejoining the Carondelet College Counseling office while Ms. Kadesh is away for her maternity leave. To give you a bit of background about myself, my degree is in education and I was an elementary teacher prior to starting my family. I have a certificate in College Admissions and Career Planning through the UC Berkeley Extension and I have been independently helping high school students with their college application journey for the last 12 years.

While there are so many facets to this process, my main goal when helping students is to give them the tools to be prepared and successful as they complete their applications. I am a huge believer in the importance of finding the schools that best fit a student’s educational, social, emotional, and financial wants and needs and I am honored to help students as they travel this path. I especially love assisting students with their personal statements as I find that when done well, they can help a student to come alive in their application! I have held summer essay workshops the last ten years and strongly encourage students to get their Common App essay completed over the summer! I am a member of NACAC and WACAC - the National and Western Associations for College Admission Counseling and keep up to date on the ever changing world of college admissions by attending counselor events and conferences, college fairs, and webinars.

Personally, I am a busy wife and mom of four and can most often be found cheering for my kids at one of their many games or dance competitions! I love to read, listen to live music, and spend time in the mountains.

Having also attended a Catholic high school, I have always appreciated the personal, caring, and values centered support I was given as a student and I look forward to the opportunity to give back in those same ways to the wonderful students within the Carondelet community.
