Michael Schooler

Director of Academic and Learning Support

After 26 years in the classroom, Michael Schooler is excited to begin a new chapter as Carondelet’s Director of Academic and Learning Support. Throughout his teaching career, he has been passionate about ensuring all students have access to meaningful learning experiences by developing inclusive curriculum and creating classroom environments where every student can succeed. While this role marks a new chapter, he is grateful to remain part of the Carondelet community and looks forward to supporting students when they need it most.

Michael began teaching at Carondelet in 2012 after teaching for 12 years at St. Elizabeth High School in East Oakland. He loves working with students directly to help them gain a broader understanding of the world while developing core skills and become engaged, thoughtful citizens. He also enjoys collaborating with his colleagues to build curriculum that will challenge students and provide support to facilitate their growth.

Outside of the classroom, much of his time is spent coaching his son’s baseball team. His family loves to travel, and is on a mission to attend baseball games at each of the 30 major league parks. He also enjoys trail running, reading and going on adventures in the mountains.
