Before teaching social studies at Carondelet, Phil had a career in graphic design and advertising while living and working in San Francisco. After about a dozen years the inner call to teach led him to pursue his Masters in Teaching at the University of San Francisco.
Phil has been the Social Studies Chair at Carondelet for 11 years and has recently accepted the new position as AP Lead Administrator. In his new position, he will help all AP teachers at Carondelet develop themselves professionally. He has experience teaching nearly all the social studies classes taught at our school. He is certified by the College Board as an AP US History Exam Reader. In addition to teaching, Phil is moderator of the Model United Nations Club at Carondelet.
When not at home prepping his classes, Phil enjoys volunteering with his son’s boy scout troop and hiking in the backcountry. Recently he has discovered that gardening is a great way to express his creativity while also connecting with nature.
