Katie Hutches, Ph.D.

Science Department Chair, Faculty

Dr. Hutches has always been passionate about chemistry and forensic science since her high school days. She was originally a forensic chemist, then transitioned to formal teaching in 2019. Dr. H is passionate about science communication, research, and making science accessible. Science is not just for ‘smart kids’, but for anyone who is curious about how and why things work and has the drive to find it out!

Dr. H serves as the club moderator for the Kids Against Hunger club and runs the Science Equity Exploratory. When she is not at school, Dr. H enjoys a wide variety of crafts, gardening, and torturing her two children with terrible puns.
