On March 8 - 10, Carondelet students attended the UC Berkeley Model United Nations. This conference attracts high school students nationwide to participate in a simulation of the actual United Nations. Carondelet students step into the shoes of ambassadors from member states to resolve global issues through debate and diplomacy. Our students represented the nations of Austria and Benin and participated in committees that discussed issues such as the impact of climate change on African nations, the Venezuelan economic crisis, and Sportswashing (sponsoring professional sports programs to gloss over a nation’s human rights abuses).
