This course empowers students with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote lifelong health and wellness. The curriculum covers six key content areas: Nutrition and Physical Activity, Growth, Development and Sexual Health, Mental, Emotional and Social Health, Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs, Injury Prevention and Safety, and Personal and Community Health.
Students will develop health literacy and critical thinking skills to make informed decisions regarding their personal well-being. The course emphasizes the development of skills such as goal-setting, decision-making, and communication, enabling students to effectively manage challenges related to physical, mental, and emotional health. Through interactive activities and evidence-based instruction, students will learn to practice healthy behaviors, advocate for their well-being, and contribute positively to their community’s health.
