The Power of Her takes the Power of Us. Give Today.
This course is based on an intermediate level curriculum utilizing interactive Project Based Learning. ASL 3 includes storytelling, usage of classifiers and movement, as well as offering introductions to ASL professions by beginning voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice interpreting. It is an opportunity to explore the usage of a vast vocabulary base that has been established during ASL 1 and ASL 2 by adjusting one’s register for the setting and preparing longer presentations and interactions. Simple sentence structure becomes complex with the use of advanced grammar skills and the concept of continuity. Cultural topics about the struggles within the Deaf community allow students to explore goal-oriented social justice approaches in their own lives and communities.
Successful completion of ASL 2 with a grade of a C or higher
