English 3 is a comprehensive course designed for juniors to strengthen skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening while engaging deeply with American literature, both historical and contemporary. Students explore a range of genres and authors, developing the ability to analyze, interpret, and respond thoughtfully to complex texts. A major emphasis is placed on writing across multiple genres, encouraging students to connect their reading to original expression. The course also fosters a culture of reading, with opportunities for students to pursue independent reading projects alongside required texts, cultivating lifelong reading habits and preparing them for the demands of college-level coursework.
Note: summer reading requirement for the course will be announced in the spring via the Carondelet/De La Salle websites.
