English 2 builds upon the foundation of freshman English, inviting students to engage more deeply with the power and complexity of language. The curriculum draws from a wide range of literary voices and genres, guiding students to explore connections between reading, writing, and interpretation. Through close analysis, reflective and creative expression, and rich discussion, students refine their ability to think critically and write with precision and insight. The course strengthens the essential skills that prepare students for the challenges of advanced coursework AP English studies.
Honors credit is given to students who fulfill the honors criteria outlined by teachers at the beginning of each unit. To earn honors for the semester, students must complete all of the honors work in that given semester.
Note: summer reading requirement for this course will be announced in the spring via the Carondelet website.
Completion of English 1
