The Advanced Placement Drawing course is designed for highly motivated students who are committed to the creation of the study of art. The Drawing Portfolio is designed to address a broad interpretation of drawing issues. Observational and abstract works that qualify as addressing drawing issues through line, value, from the illusion of depth and mark-making can include drawing, painting, printmaking, and mixed media. The drawing portfolio is intended to address a wide range of approaches and media. Students are expected to submit a portfolio for the Advanced Placement exam.
Note: students are required to start their portfolio by completing three projects over the summer. See the AP instructor for the assignments.
Carondelet students should have TMS, DLS should have Fundamentals, and then all should have one year of a VA class before seeking instructor approval to take this course.
