We are excited to share that Audrey Bowes has been selected as Salutatorian for the Class of 2024. “To be honest, I am shocked,” says Audrey. “The group of finalists was incredible. But I am very happy and honored that the senior class believes that I am a living representation of Carondelet’s core values.”
While at Carondelet, Audrey has taken seven AP courses, is Captain of the Varsity Tennis team, a 4-year class council representative, and recipient of multiple “Judge’s Choice” awards from the California Mock Trial Association, a National Hispanic Recognition Award for performance on the PSATs, and awards from the English Department and Religious Studies Department.
Upon graduating, Audrey plans on attending Santa Clara University as an English major. “I will miss my senior class very much, but I am looking forward to college,” says Audrey. “In this new adventure, I’d like to pursue a career in the publishing industry and make an impact on the world through writing. I know wherever I end up, I will make the most of it.”
An aspect of Carondelet that Audrey appreciates most is the amazing and supportive faculty. “Many teachers have empowered me and have given me the courage to try new things,” says Audrey. “My AP Literature teacher Mrs. Woo has urged me to experiment with writing and has helped me to grow in my abilities. Her encouragement and support have given me the confidence to succeed now and in future endeavors.”
“Carondelet has given me the confidence to be comfortable with myself and to believe in my ability to succeed,” Audrey shares. “With the opportunities that have been given to me here, I feel as if I can do anything—even what seems impossible. Carondelet pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I couldn’t be more grateful.”
Congratulations, Audrey! We are excited to see your journey unfold and all your future endeavors.
