Honoring the Legacy of Clint Reilly

On Monday, August 3, 2026, the Carondelet community joined Catholic schools and families from across the Bay Area in honoring the life and legacy of Clint Reilly, founder and patron of Bay Scholars.

A full house gathered at St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco for a beautiful Mass celebrating Clint’s remarkable life of service, generosity, and commitment to others. Words of remembrance were shared by his wife, Janet; his two daughters, Jill and Ava; and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, each offering a glimpse into the profound impact Clint had on his family, friends, and the broader community.

Bay Scholars was established by Janet and Clint Reilly in 2008 to help make a Catholic high school education accessible to talented young people from underserved families throughout the Bay Area. Through scholarships and ongoing support, Bay Scholars has opened doors for students to experience the academic, spiritual, and personal formation that Catholic schools offer. His commitment to ensuring that young people have the opportunity to thrive has touched countless students and families, including members of the Carondelet community.

Students, faculty, and staff from Catholic high schools throughout the Bay Area attended the Mass to honor Clint’s legacy. Many in attendance were themselves Bay Scholars recipients, a powerful testament to the lasting impact of his generosity and vision.

Following the Mass, family and friends gathered at the Julia Morgan Ballroom to share memories and celebrate Clint’s lifetime of serving others. The afternoon was a beautiful reflection of a man whose philanthropy was rooted not simply in giving, but in a deep belief in the power of education, community, and opportunity.

Carondelet is grateful to have been part of this special gathering and to honor Clint Reilly’s enduring legacy of faith, service, and generosity. His belief in the transformative power of a Catholic education continues to make a difference in the lives of young people across the Bay Area.
