The Boscacci Family: A Legacy of Generosity and Support for Carondelet

We are pleased to share that Allan and Patricia Boscacci, esteemed members of our Carondelet family, have generously chosen to name the Power of Her Performance Center. This transformational gift represents their longstanding commitment to Carondelet, which spans generations and embodies a legacy of support, involvement, and faith.

A Family Rooted in Faith and Catholic Education

Allan and Patricia were both born and raised in Oakland, California, and are proud products of Catholic education. Patricia attended St. Jarlath’s School, where she was taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph, while Allan attended St. Cyril’s School. It was at Bishop O’Dowd High School that their paths crossed and a lifelong relationship began.

Allan and Patricia lived at home while attending college, eventually marrying in their mid-20s. They chose to settle in Oakland to raise their four daughters: Lisa, Allison, Annemarie, and Alida.

The Boscacci Connection to Carondelet

In 1981, the Boscacci family became part of the Carondelet community when their eldest, Lisa, graduated from St. Lawrence O’Toole in Oakland and was ready to begin high school. Patricia fondly remembers the moment they decided to send Lisa to Carondelet:

“When we discovered the Sisters of St. Joseph at Carondelet, we were hooked. Our connection to the Sisters was immediate and lasting. Their dedication to service, their passion for education, and their deep love for their students were inspiring. We knew then that our daughters would follow in our footsteps and attend Carondelet. We wanted them to have the same kind of Catholic education that had shaped our own lives.”

Following Lisa’s lead, Allison ’88, Annemarie ’91, and Alida ’94 all attended Carondelet, establishing a Boscacci family tradition. The legacy of the Boscacci family at Carondelet continues with Allan and Patricia’s granddaughters—Paige ’15, Reese ’20, Alida ’23, Delaney ’25, Libby ’25, and Chloe ’28, and future Cougar Tyler ’30.

Throughout the years, the Boscacci girls have built lifelong friendships, cherished their experiences at Carondelet, and embraced the sisterhood that defines our community.

A Commitment to Giving Back

The Boscacci family has been a key part of Carondelet’s growth and success. Their involvement began early when Patricia and Allan, alongside other supporters, helped establish an Endowment Fund to provide tuition assistance for families in need. This initiative began through their work with Bon Marche, an event aimed at raising funds for the school’s endowment.

Patricia reflects on those early years:

“We became involved in fundraising at Carondelet and met our dear friend, Sister Carol Anne O’Marie, who was leading the Development Office. With her partnership, we formed a committee to start a Tuition Assistance Endowment. In 1982, we led the first Bon Marche Gala, and through the generosity of the Carondelet community, we raised $100,000. This event continued for many years, helping provide access to Carondelet for students who might not have been able to attend otherwise. In 1987, under Principal Sister Kathleen Lang, Bon Marche ended after our sixth event, but its legacy continued with the launch of Visions of Christmas, which remains an important event to this day.”

A Legacy of Athletic Support

The Boscacci family’s contributions extend beyond academics. Lisa Boscacci Winter ’85 and her husband, Kurt Winter, Co-Chaired the campaign to build the Carondelet Athletic Complex, and Allison Boscacci Mein ’88 and Lisa both serve on the Power of Her Campaign Committee. This Campaign is poised for a public launch in January of 2025.

Patricia and Allan’s ongoing support for the Carondelet Athletic Complex speaks to their dedication to providing young women with the resources they need to succeed, both academically and athletically. Patricia shares:

“We’ve attended countless games at the Athletic Complex, and our entire family has supported the campaign from the very beginning. The Athletic Complex is an incredible gift to the students, offering a space where young women can be proud to be athletes. It’s a place where they can compete, grow, and forge lifelong memories.”

The Power of Her Campaign

Now, Patricia and Allan are excited to lend their support to the Power of Her Campaign, this time by naming the Performance Center. Their investment in the new center is a testament to their enduring commitment to empowering young women and ensuring that Carondelet continues to provide an exceptional education in an environment that nurtures growth, leadership, faith, and community.

Patricia and Allan feel incredibly blessed to be part of the Carondelet family, and their generosity continues to make a lasting impact on the school and its students. As a family, they have shown us all the importance of giving back, of creating opportunities for future generations, and of staying connected to the values that bind us together.

We are deeply grateful to the Boscacci family for their continued support, their generosity across generations, and for helping to shape the future of Carondelet through their investment in the Boscacci Performance Center. Their legacy of leadership and philanthropy is an inspiration to us all.
