Young Alumna of the Year: Haley Chimienti ’17

Our Young Alumna of the Year has dedicated her early professional career to bringing therapeutic art practices to communities in need through the non-profit Life On Earth Art. With a degree in Studio Art: 3-D design, she engages with people from all walks of life to teach them the power of healing emotional trauma through art making. Haley prioritizes bringing the public together through volunteerism, building a space of healing and conversation over artmaking after the toll isolation and quarantine have taken on the world. She has brought paper mache winged heart art from Life On Earth Art to Carondelet, engaging with the Art and Resilience classes. Haley hopes to and continues to achieve speaks for itself: the gathering of people after collective trauma to make a piece of art together for a greater cause, or even for the self, brings a certain beauty and light you may not find anywhere else. For these reasons and more, Haley has been named Carondelet’s Young Alumna of the Year, 2023
