Welcome Back Parent Pledge Letter

A message from a fellow parent and chair of the Carondelet Fund:

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am thrilled to add my warm welcome to that of the faculty and staff on campus. I am a parent of a current student and serve as parent chair of Carondelet’s Parent Fund. I’m excited to share my experience and welcome your continued engagement in our school community.

The gifts our students receive at Carondelet are significant and lasting. Each day, our students learn to take risks, embrace leadership roles, and build their self-confidence. The friendships they develop, their accomplishments and occasional failures, and daily life lessons all contribute to guide and shape them. The faculty and staff make incredible differences in their commitment and efforts to provide individualized instruction and attention.

Today, I write to explain the importance of an annual gift you are invited to make as part of your experience at Carondelet. The Parent Fund ensures that the school continues to provide all essential elements of a Sisters of St. Joseph education—faculty development, tuition assistance, and co-curricular programming. This program benefits all our students by enriching the life of our school community and enabling the school to continually improve the quality of education and extracurricular resources delivered to students and their families. I give on an annual basis, knowing that tuition doesn’t completely cover all costs and wanting to support the school’s efforts to provide the highest quality educational experience.

The cost to educate our students continues to rise due to increased expenses and inflation. Tuition covers just 90% of Carondelet’s annual budget. To keep tuition within reach, Carondelet relies on tax-deductible donations to cover the shortfall.

Please join me in making a gift to the Parent Fund. Every commitment matters, and we invite you to make a donation that best suits your family. For those with the means, we respectfully ask you to consider making an unrestricted gift at our honorary 1965 Society level ($1,965) or above. The 1965 Society is named for the founding year of Carondelet. Your support is an investment in your student’s future, our educational ministry, and our Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph’s mission and vision—to live the gospel through unifying love in action and loving the dear neighbor without distinction.

I appreciate that it takes thought, time, and consideration to make any significant investment. The Development Team is available to meet with you personally to discuss how philanthropy impacts our ability to provide all students with an exceptional experience throughout their time on campus and beyond. Please reach out to Lynne Sabbagha Kenny ’86, P’24, Director of Philanthropy, at (925) 686-5353 x194 or at lkenny@carondeleths.org.

Thank you for considering a leadership role in support of our school. Your willingness to participate through the Parent Fund profoundly impacts the lives of all our daughters and the whole-person education they receive at Carondelet.

With deep gratitude,

Mike Gandy P’24 (1965 Society)
