The student will pursue proficiency in basic language skills such as understanding an oral presentation given at moderate speed, comprehending some literature and non-technical prose (e.g., newspaper articles), conversing readily on subjects of personal interest, and writing several coherent paragraphs on familiar topics. There will be comprehensive grammar review, the addition of considerable cultural material, and extended readings.
Completion of Italian 2 with a C or better both semesters and department approval
