Inspired by Legacy: Nicollette Guillen Mitra ’08 and Family Support the Power of Her

For Nicollette Guillen Mitra ’08 and her husband, Joseph Mitra, giving back to Carondelet is both an act of faith and a reflection of gratitude. A proud Carondelet alumna and small business owner, Nicollette carries with her the values and sisterhood she experienced as a student—values that continue to shape her life, family, and work.

“My family and I prioritize the importance of tithing, knowing that the finances God has provided for us are simply a means of connecting and growing the Church,” she shared. “This campaign stood out for many reasons; one of them being that the Boscacci Performance Center was something long awaited. To be able to contribute to the upkeep of the school’s campus is our small gesture of gratitude.”

As the owner of Legacy Aesthetics Medspa, Nicollette understands the power of purpose and persistence. Just as she’s built her business with care, integrity, and a deep sense of mission, she sees her family’s gift to the Power of Her Campaign as a way to invest in the growth and confidence of young women at Carondelet. “We prayed about our decision and gift to this campaign. We know wholeheartedly that this gift will continue to expand beyond us and our family.”

For Nicollette, the Power of Her embodies what Carondelet gave her as a student—the ability to discover her strengths, pursue her passions, and stay grounded in faith. “The Power of Her supports students in finding and magnifying their capabilities, honing their passions, and nurturing God’s talents that were gifted to them.”

She remembers her own time at Carondelet fondly, especially the teachers who made a lasting impact. “Mr. Mammola taught my religion classes when I was a freshman and senior. While so much growth and change happened between those years, his lessons were resolute and laid a strong foundation of Catholic education that I continued to live out into young adulthood.”

As a mother, Nicollette’s connection to Carondelet’s mission has only deepened. “Seeing my daughter find her place in this world is both beautiful and daunting. While we wear many hats in life and achieve many accolades, our identity as daughters of Christ will always be our true identity. The education that Carondelet provides reinforces that truth—as the girls grow into strong women and accomplish much in this world, they remain rooted in Christ.”

Nicollette and Joseph’s support is helping bring to life the new Boscacci Performance Center, a space designed to nurture both strength and sisterhood. “The new Boscacci Performance Center will be the backdrop of many beloved and exciting high school memories. Students will feel safe and proud to practice and perform at their highest potential because of the thoughtful planning and hard work that went into this project. For many student-athletes, it will be a second home—a place where they’ll strengthen themselves and their friendships, and their faith.”

When asked what inspires her family’s giving, Nicollette doesn’t hesitate: “One hundred percent, I can attribute all philanthropic attributes of my life to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The beauty of our Catholic faith is the steadfastness in tradition, and Carondelet nurtures that tradition while developing a relationship with the Lord.”

Her advice to others considering a gift is simple yet profound: “If there is ever any hesitancy, offer it to God and pray about it. Investing in the youth is an investment in our future’s success.”

Looking ahead, Nicollette hopes future generations of Carondelet students will continue to grow in both faith and confidence. “I hope and pray that the next generation of Carondelet students continue to grow into their potential, find their passion, challenge themselves, and uphold Catholic tradition while finding guidance in the Lord.”

For Nicollette, Power of Her is personal. “Each girl offers her own unique gifts and talents to be cultivated and shared with the world. Finding and nourishing those gifts can be challenging, but what manifests is a stronger and more resilient woman.”

And when it comes to legacy—in her faith, her family, her business, and her alma mater—Nicollette hopes her impact endures in the hearts of others. “I would hope for an influence that highlights ambition, knowledge, and perseverance—all while having the confidence to know there is great strength in submission to God.”
