For 2019-2020 school year
iPad and Computer Specifications
Students need to bring an iPad or a laptop (mac or PC) for their junior and senior year at Carondelet. If an iPad is chosen, it must meet the following specifications:
iPad Air or later, with a minimum of 32GB. The cellular option is not necessary. iPad Pros are acceptable. Please note that the iPad Mini does not meet our specifications.
Your daughter will need to protect her iPad with an appropriate case, protecting both the screen and the corners. Please remember your daughter’s iPad will most likely be in a backpack so choose your case accordingly.
Your daughter will also need a separate Bluetooth wireless keyboard for her iPad.
The following apps must be installed on the iPad:
- Adobe Photoshop Express
- Adobe Reader
- Find My iPhone (universal)
- Google Docs
- Google Drive
- Google Slides
- Google Sheets
- Inspiration Maps
- Pearson Etext for School App
- Pearson Etext App
- Schoology App
When your daughter receives her digital textbooks, she may need additional publisher specific apps on her iPad or laptop. These will be detailed on her book list. Although other apps necessary for class may need to be purchased, all efforts will be taken to keep expenditures to a minimum.
The Class of 2020 will continue to be responsible for the purchase of their textbooks. All other grades receive books and platform access as part of the textbook fee. The list of textbooks for each course will be available on this document in June. Students will be able to find their textbook listed and links to purchase each item below this paragraph in June.
Seniors must purchase a print or digital copy of all textbooks listed below. In some cases you will need to pay a course fee online. While we have provided a link to the item on Amazon.com, you may choose to purchase the items elsewhere. Please pay attention to the ISBN numbers—your textbook title and editions do matter.
Please note that some textbooks/platforms can only be purchased institutionally, or are significantly less expensive if purchased institutionally. If you see a required fee instead of a textbook title, that fee is for a platform or textbook, and must be purchased via the link given. If these fees are not purchased they will be added to tuition with a handling fee. These fees are Non-Refundable and in the event of a course change you are responsible for the cost of any new textbook fees this incurs and that our vendors CANNOT issue reimbursements for any code you have redeemed if it is an electronic edition. Students will receive their access to online platforms during the first week of classes in August.
If your course is not listed, then there is NO TEXTBOOK REQUIRED and all course materials will be posted on Schoology or distributed by the teacher. If you have a question about a specific course or title, please contact Ms. Michelle Koski.
