This link contains an update to the CDPH Education Guidance with respect to indoor sports (see #16: School-Based Extracurricular Activities). The updated guidance is self-explanatory and now contains, in part, the following:
When actively practicing, conditioning, or competing in indoor sports, masks are required by participants even during heavy exertion, as practicable. If masks are not worn due to heavy exertion, it is strongly recommended that individuals undergo screening testing at least once weekly. An FDA-approved antigen test, PCR test, or pooled PCR test is acceptable for evaluation of an individual’s COVID-19 status.
*** All spectators, coaches, and athletes on the bench must wear a mask at all times, NO EXCEPTIONS. ***
Equipment
Please have your teams bring water and water bottles. Ice is located at both campuses in the athletic training rooms and will be available on the sideline or bench.
Main Campus
The Athletic Training Room on the main campus is located in the gym, inside of the girls’ locker room. The door is on the right as you walk into the locker room entering from the quad.
An AED will be readily available. An AED is located on the wall of the gym, next to the entrance doors.
Carondelet Athletics Complex
The Athletic Training Room at the Carondelet Athletics Complex is located inside the building, enter through the Performance Center (on the left as you enter from the parking lot).
Three AEDs are available at the CAC. One is located in the first base dugout at the softball field and another AED is located inside the Student Center (on the right as you enter from the parking lot). Additionally, there is a third portable AED that the sports medicine staff will have available.

For a majority of events, an athletic trainer will be available during the event and 15 minutes post-event. If traveling without an athletic trainer, please provide your team with a fully stocked medical kit.
