Volleyball Defeats Washington 3-1 in NCS Division II Second Round

Cougars travel to Bishop O'Dowd for semifinal game on Wednesday

Concord, Calif. (Nov. 6, 2017) – In the second round of the 2017 NCS/Les Schwab Tires Division II Girls' Volleyball Championship, the fifth-seeded Carondelet varsity volleyball team posted a 3-1 (25-16, 22-25, 25-11, 25-13) victory over No. 14 Washington High School.

Following the victory over the Huskies (12-11), the Cougars will travel to Bishop O'Dowd High School on Wednesday, Nov. 8. The NCS/Les Schwab Tires Division II Girls' Volleyball semifinal game is schedule to begin at 7 pm.

In the victory over Washington, Carondelet (20-15) took a 1-0 lead by winning the first set by nine points. After dropping the second set 22-25, the Cougars roared back to win sets three and four, 25-11 and 25-13, to advance to the semifinals of the championships.

Carondelet's semifinal round opponent, Bishop O'Dowd (26-7) opened the tournament with a 3-0 victory over Concord, before defeating Windsor High School, 3-1, on Saturday.

Ticket prices for the game between Carondelet and Bishop O'Dowd will be $10 for adults and $6 for students with a valid ID, seniors and children 12 and younger.
