Cougars Travel to West Valley for CIF State Second Round Match

Concord, Calif. (Nov. 16, 2017) – The Carondelet volleyball team posted a 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-16) victory over Capital Christian (Sacramento, Calif.) in the opening round of the CIF State Division IV Girls Volleyball Championships, at Carondelet Gym on Wednesday night.

The sixth-seeded Carondelet Cougars got off to a slow start in the opening set, before taking their first lead at 11-10. From there, Carondelet won 14 of the next 18 points to win the first set 25-14.

Carondelet controlled the match the rest of the night, as they would go on to post a 25-14 victory in set two, before closing out the match in straight sets with a 25-16 margin in the third set.

For its second round CIF State Division IV Girls Volleyball Championship game, the Cougars will travel to third-seeded West Valley on Saturday. The game is scheduled for 6 pm at West Valley High School in Cottonwood, Calif.

West Valley had a bye in the first round of the tournament, after defeating Willows HS in five sets to capture the CIF Northern Section Division 4 Championship.

Ticket prices for the first round CIF State Division IV Volleyball Championship games are $9.00 for general admission and $5.00 for senior, children, and students, with a valid student body card.
