Students RISE in Solidarity

On February 5-9, Carondelet and De La Salle students participated in several events designed to address the difficult topics of sexual harassment and assault, domestic abuse and human trafficking.

Carondelet's RISE week was developed in response to One Billion Rising, which began in 2012 as an international movement to end rape and sexual violence against women.

Students were encouraged to "RISE" with one another and commit to fostering a worldwide culture of respect, inclusion, solidarity and empowerment.

RISE Week culminated in a fun and powerful school-wide "Break the Chain" dance in the Amp. Watch the video below and check out the full photo gallery.

"I think the most vital thing I learned during RISE was how vast the issue of violence against women is and how I am affected by the statistics," said Claire Halim '20. "I also learned how to help be the solution to this prominent problem and be the change!"
