Concord, Calif. (March 7, 2018) – The Carondelet varsity soccer team posted a 2-1 victory over Davis High School on Tuesday, in the opening round of the 2018 Northern California Division I Girls Soccer Regionals.
The Cougars held a 2-1 lead at halftime after getting first-half goals by Jordyn Young and Ella Collier. Collier also dished out of the assist on the Young goal.
Holding a one-goal advantage at heading into the second half, the Carondelet defense played tough the final 40 minutes, holding Davis scoreless, as goalkeeper Angie Anderson finished the game with four saves.
With the first-round win, the Cougars will take on Monte Vista on Thursday, March 8. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Monte Vista High School.
The game between Carondelet and the Mustangs will mark the fourth meeting of the season between the two schools. MVHS has won the three previous meetings, including a 3-1 win on the NCS Championship game.
Ticket prices for the second-round NorCal Division I Girls Soccer Regional will be $9 for general admission and $5 for seniors, children five and older, and high school students with a valid student body card.
