Layering the Foundation for the Future of the Jean Hofmann STEM Innovation Center
On a special Monday, students gathered at the construction site of the Jean Hofmann STEM Innovation Center. The day marked a momentous occasion as students placed remembrance stones into the open ground that would be covered the following day with the pouring of the concrete foundation. These stones, inscribed with inspirational messages from our students, faculty, and others in our Carondelet community will remain embedded forever within the structure of this new innovation center and all the potential it will bring. Those stones imbed the communal blessing of Sister Rosheen Glennon, CSJ, and the words that Lisa Hofmann Morgan delivered at the groundbreaking ceremony in October; "the love, compassion, and caring the Sisters of St. Joseph provided for so many years and the manner in which they nurtured the lasting relationships...are the foundation that brought us here today." Those words, like those inspirational stones, impress all of our aspirations into our campus, into our mission, and into our innovation: To forever change the way our women think about discovering their passions and transforming our world.
