Concord, Calif. – The Carondelet varsity golf team posted a second place finish in the 2017 East Bay Athletic League Girls' Golf Championship on Oct. 16. The Cougars shot a team score of 376 at the Lone Tree Golf Course, to finish two shots behind Dougherty Valley.
The 2017 EBAL Girls' Golf Championship was played over 18 holes, at the par 72, 5,586-yard course located in Antioch, Calif. As a team, the Cougars' score of 376 was 16 over par, compared to the 14-over par score of 374 by the Wildcats.
Leading Carondelet was freshman Madelyn Gamble, who posted an 18-hole score of 1-under par 71. Senior Angela Bagasbas finished the day with a 74 (+2), while sophomore Carissa Wu and junior Courtney Gaoiran had rounds of 75 (+3). Senior Annika Borrelli completed the Cougars' team scoring with a round of 81 (+9) and freshman Madison Wu shot 86 (+14).
With its second-place finish in the 2017 EBAL Girls' Golf Championship, Carondelet is looking to extend its season into the North Coast Section Girls' Golf Champions, which will be held at Lone Tree Golf Course on Monday, Oct. 30. The field for the 2017 NCS Girl's Golf Championship will be announced on Tuesday, Oct. 24, and will be available on the NCS Website.
