Carondelet's Anderson One of Two Keepers on USA U-17 Roster
Concord, Calif. (July 11, 2017) – Carondelet High School soccer goalkeeper Angelina Anderson '19 will travel to China this summer to complete in the CFA International U-16 Women's Football Tournament, as part of the United States U-17 Women's National Team. Angelina Anderson is one of a pair of goalkeepers on the 20-player roster for the USA squad.
The United States is part of a four-team tournament that begins on Wednesday, July 12. The red, white and blue will take on Japan on July 12, then play Canada on July 14, before closing the tournament against China on July 16. The tournament will be played at the Weifang Olympic Sports Center Stadium in Weifang, China, which is located on the northeast coast of China, at the base of the Shandong Peninsula.
The USA U-17 team is in the middle of the first year of a two-year cycle in which they will attempt to qualify for the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup that will be staged in Uruguay.
