Born and raised in Miami, Florida. Family is from Bolivia. Attended college on a full scholarship for speech and debate. Worked at Congressional Quarterly and Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars. As a lawyer, worked for Catholic Charities, Immigration Project in San Diego. As an educator, served as Head of History, Upper School Director, Director of College Counseling at a private IB school. Member of American Academy of Achievement. Two-time nominee for Disney Teacher of the Year, Mentor of the Year, and received Crystal Apple Award for Teaching. Served as Carondelet Board of Trustee and Academic Advisory Board member prior to present role. Travelled extensively. Fluent in Spanish. Studied French and Portuguese at Georgetown. Mother of two Carondelet Alum who were athletes. Possess experience with the parent life of high school and college athletes. Passionate about helping young women learn of opportunities and to help them discover their potential future paths.
