After pursuing a research career investigating molecular mechanisms in the immune system and breast cancer cells, Susan began her high school teaching career in La Jolla where she taught Biology, Chemistry, Neuroscience and Robotics. In 2018, Susan joined Carondelet as Science Department Chair and has taught Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology and multiple levels of Biology. She has a passion for helping students discover the excitement of figuring out how things work and that science is accessible to everyone.
Susan is a mentor for the Carondelet Pre-Med club where students can work together to discover the different aspects of a career in medicine and research.
Outside of school, Susan is a passionate gardener and knitter. On the weekends you can find her hiking the hills of Berkeley with her husband and dog. On longer breaks you’ll find Susan traveling to Boston to visit her two grown children.
