The kale has sprouted, the herbs are planted, and Carondelet has never looked so green. This week the Green Team planted mint, thyme, parsley, and cilantro, which will be acclimating to the new soil this week. Currently, the kale is in the process of being thinned, since so many of the seeds sprouted.
The garden is providing a great hands-on experience for students to learn about gardening.
In other news, Carondelet students gathered in the Inner Court this Thursday to watch Disney Earth, a documentary detailing the interconnected biomes of the world. Snacks, socializing, and sustainability made for a fun and educational X-block period. Thank you to everyone who came out! Each month, movies like these will be shown to spark conversations about the necessity of protecting the Earth and caring for God’s creation.
Sustainability is a cornerstone of Carondelet’s future, and we look forward to making more progress at Carondelet.
