The students voted as a choir to perform this piece and thought it had the best message, especially during this pandemic. Since they cannot sing together or on-campus, students learned and performed it completely in distance learning. The choir has never rehearsed this year in one place or at one time and some of these students have never even met each other!
The choir prepared with Zoom rehearsals, Zoom sectionals, individual hearings and individual lessons, and used rehearsal links in the class webpage.
Catherine DeVincenzi ’21, Choir President said, “Preparing remotely was definitely different! I miss singing with Mrs. Way and my friends in the choir room. But by preparing for the song remotely, I learned a lot about how to learn a song on my own, and what resources I can use to help me. It was a little bit more time consuming than it normally would be (recording yourself singing takes longer and is more frustrating than you would think!), but it was definitely worth it!”
