Financial Aid Evening
Wednesday, Oct. 4, 7:00 p.m. in the Garaventa Center: This presentation will include the most up-to-date information on how to complete the FAFSA and apply for financial aid. Students in all grades at Carondelet and De La Salle and their parents/guardians are welcome.

PSAT Prep Workshop for Sophs & Juniors
Saturday, Oct. 7, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Carondelet. This two-hour workshop by Michael Brun of East Bay Prep will provide strategy and content review to help students better prepare for the upcoming PSAT. Carondelet students can register here, and bring a $25 check made out to Michael Brun. Please provide payment to Mrs. Simonelli in the College and Career office or bring it the day of the workshop.

Wednesday, Oct. 11, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Carondelet Seniors should bing printed copies of their college essays and writing supplements. Attendance is mandatory.

Student-Athlete College Information Night
Monday, Oct. 23, 7:00 p.m. in the Garaventa Center: The Directors of Athletics from five institutions (Division I,II, III, NAIA, and community college) will talk about the recruitment process. Students in all grades at Carondelet and De La Salle and their parents/guardians are welcome.

The world lost an amazing young woman in early 2017. Jennifer (Eggers) Attenasio '97 suffered a catastrophic pulmonary embolism just hours after giving birth to her son, Teddy. As her twin sister, Michele (Eggers) Lago '97, recounts in the Fall 2017 Carondeletter, Jenny brought light to five people whose lives were saved because she was an organ donor. Dozens of standout Carondelet students and five senior student-athletes were honored at an all-school assembly Wednesday morning. Five Cougars signed their National Letters of Intent to play collegiate athletics after graduation.

Día de los Muertos is a Mexican celebration honoring deceased family and friends. This ancient, mystical tradition is a mix of indigenous rituals and Catholicism. Día de los Muertos dates back to the pre-Hispanic cultures of Meso-America 3,000 years ago. On Día de los Muertos, it is believed that the dead return to visit their living relatives and friends. Elaborate altars are constructed in each home and in cemeteries. They are adorned with candles, marigolds, plates of delicious food, and round loaves of bread called Pan de Muertos. Folk art and frosted sugar skulls add the finishing touches.
