This Is Our Time Capital Campaign
After 50 years, we're writing an exciting new chapter in the Carondelet story. To give our students the world-class facilities and life-transforming experience they deserve, we've launched a $38 million capital campaign to:
- Build an Athletics Complex and Student Center that will foster school pride and competitive spirit. Goal: $14.5 million
- Build a STEAM Center (for science, technology, engineering, arts and math) where young women can stretch their ingenuity and creativity. Goal: $16 million
- Create an Endowed Needs-Based Scholarship Fund to ensure that a quality Catholic education remains accessible for those who otherwise could not afford it. Goal of $7.5 million met in full, thanks to the generosity of the Hofmann Family Foundation!
This Is Our Time. And this is your opportunity to help make our carefully planned vision a reality.

Carondelet Breaks Ground on New Athletics Complex
Receives $15 million pledge toward new $38 million capital campaign
(Walnut Creek, Feb. 6, 2017) – Carondelet High School broke ground Feb. 2 and is moving forward with its plans to construct a state-of-the-art athletics complex at the site of the former ClubSport Valley Vista Tennis and Swim Club. Just weeks after receiving city approval of its plans, the girls' school is converting the former tennis and swim club into an athletics complex that will be home to seven sports, including tennis, soccer, lacrosse, softball, swimming, diving and water polo.
"Today is the beginning of a new era for our school," said Carondelet President Bonnie Cotter. "Our girls finally will have facilities that match their amazing drive, spirit and talents and which will help them learn, excel and flourish in today's world." The school is on track to have this new facility open in time for the start of the 2017-18 school year.
Dec. 6, 2016: Unanimous Vote for Carondelet
The Cougars scored a victory in Walnut Creek and we are well on our way to having our very own state-of-the-art athletics complex! The Walnut Creek City Council voted unanimously in favor of our project and we can't wait to share more details about next steps for our anticipated ground breaking. Stay tuned!
Thank you to all of our enthusiastic supporters! We sincerely appreciate how you have rallied around this transformational project for our current and future students. This is our time!

Walnut Creek Planning Commission Approves Athletics Complex, Moves Project Forward to City Council
On Oct. 27, Carondelet presented its Athletic Complex project to the Walnut Creek Planning Commission and received a unanimous (5-0) vote recommending the project to be approved. This vote paves the way for us to move the project forward to the Walnut Creek City Council.
While we are excited to have cleared this important hurdle, we are not to the finish line yet. We are scheduled to go before the City Council on *new date* Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. and we will need to again make the case for the construction of a state-of-the-art complex featuring six tennis courts, a soccer/lacrosse field, a softball field, a 10-lane swimming and diving pool, and a professional weight training center for strength and conditioning, prehabilitation and rehabilitation.
Please join us in sending a strong message to the city that this project is a win for the greater community and, especially, for our young women who deserve equity and a safe, welcoming "home field" to practice, play, and build the lasting bonds of sisterhood.
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
It is my pleasure to invite you to our Second Informational Evening on Thursday, May 26 regarding the school's plans to develop an Athletics Complex on the ClubSport Valley Vista property. Representatives from the architectural and engineering firms who are working with us on this project will be available at this meeting to share their design concepts with you as well as an overview of the impact studies that have been conducted to date.
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The good news is that Carondelet's plans to purchase the Club Sport/Valley Vista Tennis Center are moving full speed ahead. The "not-so-good" news is that the City of Walnut Creek's approval process could extend until December, or even February.
To keep the process moving as efficiently as possible, Carondelet has hired an outstanding firm, BKF Engineers, to work with us to manage the component parts, submit our application to the City, and follow that application right through approval. Thus far, we have conducted essential impact studies, like those regarding traffic and sound, and continue to revise our site plan to ensure that we build a facility that meets the needs of our students, can provide access to our community partners for their use, and which enables us to be sensitive to our neighbors.
